owner’s story

980503 was a custom order from Simpsons in Edinburgh, which I bought from them on 04 Jan 1999. Since then it has been my main guitar and will have gone through perhaps 250 sets of strings. The back and sides were made from a rare piece of walnut that Chris got from a retiring American cabinet maker in Switzerland. It is flamed and coloured. The guitar is showing signs of wear after roughly 800 gigs and more than 10,000 hours of playing. I’ve refretted it twice and cut a new bone nut and saddle. I play mainly folk and Scottish trad, accompanying fiddles and pipes.
